Is selling AI prompts actually still worth doing in 2026?

I keep seeing older posts about prompt selling from a couple years ago but wondering if the market's saturated now that everyone has access to good AI tools already. Is there still real money here or did I miss the window?

It's smaller than people made it sound back then, but not dead. I make about $180/month from mine, it's not going to replace a job but it's steady side income for very little ongoing work.

Agree with t_nguyen, the general 'write me an essay' prompts don't sell anymore because everyone can just ask the AI directly. Niche, tested prompts for specific business tasks still move.

The service side (fixing someone's chatbot prompts) pays a lot better than marketplace sales in my experience, worth doing both.
