It's going to happen eventually. Here's how to handle it gracefully. First: Don't Panic One negative review among positive ones won't tank your listing. Airbnb shows your overall rating, and guests understand that not every stay is perfect. Responding to Negative Reviews #DO: \- ✅ Wait 24 hours before responding (don't react emotionally) \- ✅ Thank them for their feedback \- ✅ Acknowledge any legitimate issues \- ✅ Explain what you've done to fix the problem \- ✅ Keep it professional and brief #DON'T: \- ❌ Get defensive or argumentative \- ❌ Make excuses \- ❌ Attack the guest personally \- ❌ Write a novel-length response Response Template \> "Thank you for your feedback, \[Name\]. I'm sorry \[specific issue\] didn't meet your expectations. I've since \[action taken to fix\]. I appreciate you helping me improve and hope you'll give us another try in the future." When to Contact Airbnb You can request review removal if it: \- Contains false information \- Violates Airbnb's content policy \- Is retaliatory for enforcing house rules Has anyone successfully had a review removed? What was the situation?
