6 months in: $38 total. Is this normal?

Started a 'home gadgets' blog back in March, been posting fairly regularly, sitting around 800 visits/month now. Total commissions since day one: $38. Starting to wonder if I picked a bad niche or if this is just how long it takes. Anyone else's early numbers this low?

Generic niches are brutal for this. I switched from 'home gadgets' to grill accessories specifically for Weber kettle owners and my earnings-per-click almost tripled even with less total traffic.

This. Amazon rewards buying intent, not browsing traffic. A tiny audience that's about to buy beats a big audience that's just looking around.

$38 in 6 months tracks with what I've seen as pretty average for a broad niche honestly. A lot of people quit right before it would've turned. Depends how long you can wait it out.
