What works: \- Target customer returns over shelf pulls (better variety) \- Focus on specific categories you know well \- Build relationships with local liquidation sources \- Check items BEFORE you leave the warehouse What doesn't work: \- Buying mystery pallets online (usually garbage) \- Expecting everything to be sellable (30-40% usually isn't) \- Thinking you'll get rich quick My ROI reality: \- Average pallet cost: $300-500 \- Average return: $800-1200 \- Time investment: 8-12 hours sourcing, testing, listing It's decent money but definitely not passive.
