How much design skill do you actually need for this?

I'm decent at organizing information but not really a 'design' person visually. Is that going to be a dealbreaker for selling templates?

For Notion or Sheets templates specifically, structure and organization matter way more than visual design. A well-organized plain template outsells a pretty but confusing one every time.

Agreed, my best seller is honestly pretty plain looking. It just solves the exact problem clearly, that's what people are actually paying for.
