Rover Reviews: What Sitters Say Before You Sign Up

Saw someone in another group ask if Rover's actually as good as the app store reviews make it sound, from the sitter side specifically, not the owner side, that's a different conversation. Curious what people who've actually worked it for a while think.

Honestly mixed. The flexibility is real, I pick my own hours and clients, nobody's telling me when to work. What nobody mentions in the app store reviews: the ranking algorithm is a total black box, there's no way to see why one sitter shows up above another, and support can be slow if you actually have a problem.

Agree with this. I'd call it a solid 7/10 as a side income source, not a 9/10. Good if you go in knowing it's inconsistent at first and the fees eat into new-client bookings especially. Bad if you expect steady predictable income from month one.
