Building repeat clients outside TaskRabbit - ethical approach

Some clients want to hire me directly to avoid TR fees. I understand but it's risky - lose platform protection, payment security, reviews. My compromise: first 2-3 jobs stay on platform to build trust and reviews, then consider off-platform for maintenance/repeat work. Always get payment upfront for off-platform work. Anyone else navigate this?

I've had clients ask about this too. My approach: I tell them I prefer staying on platform for mutual protection. Most respect that. The few who insist usually aren't worth it.

Off-platform has risks but I do it for long-term maintenance clients (one office I clean weekly). Just have a simple contract and invoice through Square or similar.
