# Dealing with negative comments and trolls

Been creating for 8 months now and the hate comments are really getting to me. I know "don't read the comments" but they still pop up. How do you guys handle the mental health aspect of being a creator?

I turn off comment notifications and only check comments once a day on my own terms. Also filtering keywords helps a lot. You can block certain words from appearing in your comments section.

Real talk - therapy helped me a lot with this. It's normal to feel hurt by mean comments. Remember that trolls comment because THEY'RE unhappy. Your supporters outweigh the haters 100 to 1.
