    How do you handle last-minute cancellations?

    Had three cancellations this month, two of them within 24 hours of the trip. It's really frustrating when you block out dates and then get left hanging. Has anyone found a good strategy to minimize this or at least recoup some of the lost income?

    I require a 3-day notice for cancellations in my listing description. Also, building a waitlist of guests who want short-notice bookings helps fill those gaps. Follow up with past guests who had good experiences!

    Turo's cancellation policy options help. I switched to the Moderate policy and cancellations dropped significantly. Guests have more skin in the game when they can't get a full refund last minute.
